Was There a Debate Last Night?

Did Mr. Earnest Sadeyes get a beatdown, Biden style? Sorry, I wasn’t aware. I was too busy laughing at these photos of this Howdy Doody-looking motherfucker.

Captioning? Memes? I hardly know where to begin, I’m just so damn giddy.
This post may be updated as I think of funny things to say. Right now, it’s like all my thoughts are a jumble, tripping each other and knocking each other over and saying “OMFG, look at this dumb asshole!” TOO. MUCH. FUNNY.

No questions about the millions of Americans who live in poverty and what to do about it.

No questions about 40 years of the failed “war on drugs”.

No questions about the massive incarceration rates in the U.S.

No questions about the massive surveillance state.

No questions about workers rights or unions.

No questions about the inhumane and illegal drone strikes that the U.S. perpetrates in sovereign countries around the world .

No questions about Obama’s war on whistle-blowers.

What we did get was leading questions about who would make the Iranian people suffer more (You could just see the glee on Biden’s face as he talked about just how bad our sanctions were ruining the lives of Iranian citizens). “The best way” to cut social security and medicare benefits. Taxes, taxes taxes (no real reform, only who would make millionaires pay slightly more). The best way to continue to destabilize the middle east and to make sure our standing in that part of the world is continually reduced (Syria) This debate was almost entirely about austerity and which administration would sink lower to make ordinary people (of the world, not just the U.S.) suffer the most.<=

OTOH, I also agree with MMfA, because we have a right-wing media in this country, and a far right-wing media.

      • I certainly agree with the questions, but it’s hard for me to take someone who says Joe Biden–of all people–is gleeful about making brown people suffer seriously. I know some lefties are really down with that kind of hyperbole, but it leaves me with a bad taste in my mouth.

      • But that is what we’re doing in Iran.

It’s what we did in Iraq. And everywhere in the Middle East, going right back to Operation Ajax, when we overthrew Iran’s democracy.

We ALWAYS say it’s for humanitarian purposes. And it ALWAYS turns out to be for Israel and/or oil company profits.

As for Joe Biden, he was a supporter of the 2005 Bankruptcy Bill.

        He’s no angel.
